The City of Kentwood Police Department is hiring a part-time Code Enforcement Technician.  The Code Enforcement Technician enforces codes related to property maintenance & nuisance complaints and provides follow-up inspections to ensure compliance.

This position is part-time. Work hours vary by season and average 20 hours per week.  Some Saturday shifts are required.

Qualified applicants must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record, be LEIN certified or certifiable, and have the following:

  • an associate's degree in criminal justice, public administration, or closely related field; and
  • two years of experience in the inspection of housing, zoning, building, or related code enforcement; or 
  • an equivalent of combination of education, training, and experience.

Candidates with felony convictions are not eligible for this position as it prevents them from being certified by LEIN (for more information on LEIN certification, click here).
